What is TDEE?

TDEE — Total Daily Energy Expenditure — is roughly how many calories you burn in a day, including exercise. Our TDEE calculator estimates it with the Mifflin–St Jeor formula. A formula can be off by 10–15%, which is why Our Macro later reads your real TDEE back from your weight trend. Start with the calculator when you have no data yet.

What are macros?

Macros — protein, carbohydrates and fat — are the three nutrients that make up your calories. Once you know your calorie target, the macro calculator splits it into grams of each, weighted toward protein. Use the TDEE calculator first to get the calorie number, then this one to divide it up.

A calculator guesses. The app knows.

Our Macro back-calculates your real TDEE from your weight trend and updates it weekly.
